Enjoy a Scottish Road Trip with Avis Prestige

Scotland attracts visitors from around the world who come to enjoy its stunning landscapes and charming villages.

At Avis Prestige, we believe the best way to see the remarkable scenery is with a Scottish road trip in one of our luxury vehicles which combine comfort and performance! We have planned a spectacular circular route around Scotland which will take you past gorgeous coastlines, through welcoming villages, along the magical rolling countryside and more!

During your Scottish road trip, take the time to get out of the car and explore. There are many different places and sights that you can stop to admire, depending on your tastes. We particularly enjoy the turquoise beaches, delicious fresh fish, friendly locals and fun outdoor activities!

The Route

Begin your journey in Inverness, and pick up a stunning luxurious hire vehicle for your Scotland road trip using our personal "Meet & Greet" service at Inverness Airport. Then head to Inverness Castle, a perfect place to begin your route, as the castle is perched on a hill overlooking stunning views of the Highlands.

From Inverness, follow the main road and drive north along the coastal edges of the North Highlands, taking in the villages and towns of places like John O’Groats and the nearby Castle and Garden of Mey.  Head west on the A836 towards Durness. One of our favourite places to visit is Smoo Cave. Located not far from Durness town, the stunning limestone sea cave, with one of the largest entrances to any sea cave in Britain - truly spectacular.  Or visit Sango Bay, near Durness, for white sand dunes and turquoise waters surrounded by rolling green hills.

From Durness, take the A838 and head towards Ullapool, a picturesque fishing town and voted one of the UK’s top 10 outdoor destinations by Outdoor Fitness magazine. Visit the Inverpolly National Nature Reserve home to wildcats, golden eagles and more.

There are so many possible sites to visit and things to see. But, we don’t want to give everything away! One of the best parts about a Scottish road trip is discovering quaint hidden away villages and remote glens and mysterious lochs. Your Scottish road trip will be full of unforgettable fun and excitement.

For a one of a kind experience this summer, head up to Scotland in one of our luxurious vehicles for the road trip of a lifetime! Check out our 4x4 SUVs, integrating driving performance with unparalleled levels of refinement and comfort. Get in touch with Avis Prestige, to receive a quote today.
